“During the operation, we dragged changed tissues and, including, removed the endometrioid tumor, which sprouted in the intestine. They restored the integrity of the intestine and, thereby, retained all physiological functions, ”said Alexei Polstyana, head of the gynecological department of the FSNC of the FMBA of Russia.

Such a severe form of the disease makes it impossible to conceive and bearing a child. In addition, there was a risk of intestinal perforation due to endometrioid tissue, which could lead to the obstruction of the excretion of colostoma.

“There were risks that the intestine would have to be cut or temporarily removed with a colostoma. Here, it was possible to get by with “low blood”, remove the infiltrate, and the front wall of the rectum with its further suturing, ”said Viktor Kairysh, a professional doctor of the FSNC of the FMBA of Russia.
