President Volodimir Zelenski said on Monday that Ukrainian troops in northeastern Ukraine are fighting foreign “mercenaries” in different countries, including China, Pakistan and certain regions of Africa, and promised a response of Kiev, reports Reuters.
Zelenski has previously accused Moscow of recruiting Chinese war fighters against Ukraine, denied Beijing accusations, while North Korea has also provided thousands of own soldiers in the Kursk region of Russia.
“We discussed with the commanders about the situation on the front, the defense of the city of Vovchansk and the dynamics of the fights,” Zelenski wrote, in a message published on the social network X, after making a surprise visit in an area of the North-East region of Kharkov.
“Our warriors in this sector report the participation of mercenaries in China, Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and African countries. We will answer,” added the leader from Kiev.
Reuters mentions that he has contacted the embassies of Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan in Kiev to request views. Moscow did not immediately comment on Zelenski's statements immediately.

Shortly after the invasion triggered by Russia on February 24, 2022, President Zelenski launched an appeal to foreign citizens with military training to come to Ukraine in the “International Legion” of volunteers to help defend this country.
During the Monday meeting with the commanders of the units on the Kharkov front, Zelenski approached with these issues such as the supply of drones and the development of new soldiers, according to the message that the Ukrainian leader sent. He also decorated the military fighting on that front sector.
Russia last night made a new massive drone and rocket attack on targets on the territory of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian air forces, a Kinjal hypersonic missile was launched on the Ukrainian Starokonstantinov air base, located in the central-western region.
For her part, Ukraine attacked Saky's Russian air base in the Crimea Peninsula, where according to Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), at least one Suhoi Su-30 fighter plane and a Suhoi Su-24 hunting plane were destroyed.
