A woman was arrested for neglecting a child, after a two-year-old girl was discovered alive in a suitcase, in the luggage compartment of a New Zealand bus.

A woman from New Zealand was arrested on Sunday, being accused of neglecting a child, after a 2-year-old girl was found in life, hidden in a suitcase in the luggage compartment of a bus, according to Associated Press, quoted by News.ro.
The child, discovered during a stop
The incident took place in Kaiwaka, located north of Auckland. Inspector Simon Harrison said, in a statement, that everything happened during a planned stop, when a passenger asked for access to the bus. The driver then noticed movement inside a bag and decided to open it.
Inside the suitcase, the driver found a 2 -year -old girl, who was extremely hot, but did not present visible physical injuries, Harrison said.
The authorities did not specify how long the child spent in the luggage compartment and what was the exact bus route.
The little girl was urgently transported to the hospital, where she was still on Sunday evening. The police opened an investigation.
A woman, accused of serious negligence
A woman was detained and charged for “the mistreatment or neglect of a child ”. It was to appear on Monday before the court, but the authorities did not make his name public.
The reaction of the transport company
Intercity company, which operates the transport network, which was part of the bus involved, confirmed for the local press that the incident took place in one of its vehicles. The representatives of the company mentioned that passengers with children under 3 years old do not pay a ticket for them, provided that the little ones travel in the arms of an adult.
