At all entrances to the border point, barriers that limit the passage of vehicles are installed, said the head of the Narv border point of Anti ENNSALO.
So far, only the car rim of crossing the border is overlapped on the gate. The pedestrian part is open for movement, but it is planned to install and pedestrian gates.
“This is necessary primarily to increase the safety of the border point. About five years ago, we had an incident when the car from Russia broke out existing barriers. Installation of barriers will help prevent unauthorized travel. Also, installing the gate will help to better control the situation on the bridge, for example, in case of migrant stream,” Einsalu said.
On the Russian side, work also began on the construction of a new transportation station. On the Estonian side, the new infrastructure should be ready by the end of September.
