“An abject cruelty.” Emmanuel Macron condemns images with Israeli hostage broadcast by Hamas

French President Emmanuel Macron, who announced that in September he will recognize the Palestinian state, attracting criticism from Israel and the US, firmly condemned the dissemination of shocking images with Israeli hostages emaciated by Palestinian terrorist organizations that committed the massacre of October 7, 2023.

Starting on Thursday, Hamas and his ally, Islamic Jihad, have published three videos in which two extremely weak and exhausted Israeli hostages appear. The sequence in which a hostage digs with a shovel in the sandy soil of the narrow tunnel in which he is held, claiming that he digs his own grave, he shocked, notes News.ro.

“An abject cruelty, an unpretentious inhumanity: this represents Hamas,” wrote the President of France on the “unbearable disseminated images, which show Israeli hostages held in Gaza, remind us of this,” he denounced in the post made in French, English, Hebrew and Arab.

“The absolute priority and the imperative of France is the immediate release of all the hostages. We continue to work without ceasing to obtain this unconditional release, to restore the ceaseless fire and to allow the massive delivery of the humanitarian aid, which is still blocked at the gates in Gaza,” gives insurance Emmanuel Macron.

Since Friday, France launches humanitarian packages from the air above the Gaza strip daily.

However, the president points out that this is not enough, an opportunity to plead again for the solution of two states. “This activity must be accompanied by a political solution for the next day. However, Macron emphasizes, that “there is no ambiguity”, that France demands the total demilitarization of Hamas, its complete exclusion from any form of government and the recognition of Israel by the Palestine state.

The publication of the three videos by Hamas and the Islamic Jihad had a devastating effect in Israel, where the debate on the need to reach an agreement for their release was re -approved. Tens of thousands of people gathered on Saturday night at Tel Aviv to request the issuance of hostages, illustrating the emotion that encompassed the country again.

Of the 251 kidnapped people on October 7, 2023 during the bloody attack of Hamas on Israel, 49 are still detained in Gaza, of which 27 were declared death by the Israeli army.
