Today, on June 24, a constituent meeting of the Parliamentary Inter -Fractional Association for the Protection of High -Action Participants, Veterans and their families took place. During the meeting, Yulia Tymoshenko, together with other deputies, outlined the main areas of activity and discussed the organizational principles of further work. According to the head of the association, the MFI will work openly – in cooperation with representatives of military and veterans communities, who best know what problems need a priority solution. “Defenders and their families should be heard,” Tymoshenko emphasized.
MFI will work in three main directions:
• protection of the rights of servicemen;
• solving veterans problems;
• Improvement of the mechanism of obtaining the status of a participant of hostilities.
Among the priority tasks that plan to solve:
• critically low level of housing for military and their families;
• insufficient financing of housing renting for servicemen;
• delays and problems with combat payments;
• unfairly low salaries and pensions;
• a complex procedure for transfer between units;
• delayed dismissal from military service;
• lack of proper rotation and vacations;
• imperfection of the work of military medical commissions;
• non -payment of injuries;
• problems with payments to the families of dead and missing defenders and defenders;
• obstacles upon receipt of Ukrainian citizenship by foreign legionnaires;
• lack of proper rehabilitation, including psychological;
• queues for prosthetics;
• Difficulties with obtaining the status of a combatant.
