Donald Trump gave pharmaceutical concerns 60 days. “It's unacceptable”

A spokeswoman for the White House Karoline Leavitt informed about sending letters during the briefing, quoting one of the messages sent to the head of the group Eli Lilly. Trump wrote in it that he expected from the company that he would undertake to reduce drug prices to the level used in other developed countries.
“Currently in the United States, the prices of branded drugs are on average even three times higher than anywhere else for the same drugs. This unacceptable burden for hard -working American families ends with my administration,” Trump said. “In the future, the only thing I accept from drug producers is a commitment that will provide American families with immediate relief from extremely overstated medicines and will put an end to the use of American innovations by Europe and other developed countries” – he added.
Trump asks and threatens: I will use all tools
Trump wants companies to reduce prices in the US to the lowest level used in other developed countries. He announced that although he is counting on the cooperation of companies in this matter, in the event of a refusal, the White House will use all the tools he has to complete the current practice.
Trump has already argued that the authorities of foreign countries, especially EU countries, forced low medicines at pharmaceutical companies, and the concerns made up for increasing prices in the US, so American patients in practice subsidized healthcare systems in Germany and other parts of the European Union. Pharmaceutical companies have often justified higher drug prices in the US with the need to maintain expenses for research on new drugs.
