The “Servant of the People” will support the presidential bill. Information that 70 deputies allegedly not vote is not true. It is not clear to me where this amount came from, ”said the speaker.
Article FT was published on July 25. The publication, citing sources close to the President of Ukraine, stated that about 70 people's deputies from the “servants of the people” did not want to vote for the bill to strengthen the independence of NABU and SAP, as they are allegedly afraid of revenge and further persecution on their part.
FT noted that such fears arose after an interview with the head of the CAP Alexander Klimenko, in which he promised to make out all the situations, events, statements, all reproaches, claims to the anti -corruption bodies of “molecules”, as well as “reproduce the chronology of events in seconds” and “give this all the analysis.”
Context
On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 12414, which involves the expansion of the powers of the Prosecutor General, including in relation to criminal proceedings engaged in NABU and SAP. The law on the same day signed Zelensky, the document has already entered into force.
Anti -corruption bodies warned that the law gives the prosecutor general of Ukraine access to all NABU cases, he will have the right to provide instructions to detectives, will be able to close the investigation at the request of the protection party, etc. In the CAP and NABU, they argue that at the last moment the editors were made in the text of the bill, which “actually destroy the independence” of the SAP and NABU.
Since July 22, protests against the law have been held in different cities of Ukraine.
On July 23, Zelensky stated in the appeal that they would prepare a new bill to strengthen the independence of anti -corruption bodies. On July 24, the president submitted a document to Rada. In order to consider it, according to the people's deputies of Alexei Goncharenko (“European solidarity”) and Yaroslav Zheleznyak (“Voice”), parliamentarians will gather for an extraordinary meeting next week.
