Macron's historical decision. France will recognize the Palestinian state

France is the largest of European countries that will recognize Palestine – so far it has done several countries in Europe.
The French president wrote about his decision in a statement on the website X, attaching a letter in which he informs the leader of the Palestinian autonomy of Mahmud Abbas.
Macron assured that “peace is possible” and assessed that it is necessary to immediately suspend the weapons in the Gaza Strip, released all hostages abducted by Hamas and wide humanitarian aid for the residents of the zone.
“It is also necessary to guarantee the demilitarization of Hamas, ensure the safety of gauze and rebuild it. You must finally build a Palestinian state, ensure its ability to live” – Macron wrote. As he added, this state should agree to demilitarization and to be considered Israel – it should also be allowed to” participate in the safety of everyone in the Middle East “.
“There is no alternative,” said Macron. He assured that The French “want a room in the Biski East”. “It belongs to us – together with Israelis, Palestinians, our European and international partners – showing that it is possible,” he added.

He also explained that in the light of the obligations that the leader of the Palestinian autonomy before him, he decided to inform him about his “determination to go forward”.
In a letter to Abbas, Macron wrote that when making a decision about the recognition of the Palestinian state, France wants to “make a decisive contribution to peace in the Middle East.” Paris “will mobilize all of his international partners who want to participate in this” – added the president.
France, together with Saudi Arabia, was to chair the conference at the UN headquarters in June dedicated to the Middle Eastern dissolution in the form of two countries. This conference was to determine the action plan for the Palestinian state, while ensuring the safety of Israel. However, it was postponed due to Israel's attack on Iranian nuclear installations.
In recent months, the French president said that the creation of the Palestinian state “is not only a moral duty, but also a political necessity.” He signaled that the conference in New York may be an opportunity for steps towards “mutual recognition” – both Palestinian and Israel – by those countries that currently do not recognize him.
So far, 148 countries have recognized the Palestinian state. Israel and the United States are against it. In previous decades, France has repeatedly announced that it would recognize Palestine at the right time. She also supported the admission of Palestine to UNESCO and granting her status of a non -depths of the UN observer.
