A new orange code for the heat and accentuated thermal discomfort enters into force on Wednesday, July 24, at 10 o'clock, when the previous warnings issued by the ANM for the same phenomena expire.

The new orange code warning is valid between 10 pm on Thursday and 10 pm on Friday, July 25, and targets: persistent heat, heat and accentuated heat discomfort and a tropical night.
“In the south and western Oltenia, as well as in the south and center of Muntenia, the heat wave will persist, will be the heat, accentuated thermal discomfort, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The maximum temperatures will be between 37 and 39 degrees. Thermal minimums will be 20 … 22 degrees so they will characterize a tropical night“, Says ANM.

Yellow code of high thermal discomfort and persistent heat wave
Also on Thursday, at 10 o'clock, a yellow code targets a persistent heat and high thermal discomfort. The warning is valid until Friday, July 25, at 10 o'clock.
“The heat wave will expand in most of the country, will be thermal discomfort and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will easily exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. It will be heat in Banat and Crișana, locally in Maramureș, Transylvania, northern Oltenia and Muntenia, as well as in the South of Moldova. And 37 degrees, and the minimums generally between 18 and 20 degrees ”shows ANM.
According to the National Meteorological Administration, by the end of the week, the heat wave, the heat and thermal discomfort will be intensified, especially in the western, the south and partial in the center of the country.
