Liberals meet in meeting Thursday night. Important point on the agenda: Choosing Secretary General

PNL National Political Bureau was summoned for the first meeting after the Congress in which Ilie Bolojan was elected. The meeting will take place on Thursday evening, from 7:00 pm, in hybrid format, according to HotNews sources.
According to the new PNL statute, approved at the July 12 Congress, the Secretary General of the Party is proposed by the PNL president. Ilie Bolojan announced that his proposal is Dan Motreanu, but he must be validated, by secret vote, in the first BPN meeting after Congress, which takes place on Thursday.
Other details about the topics that will be discussed in the meeting of PNL leaders are not, for the moment: “We do not have the agenda, but the statute says that in the first BPN the Secretary General is voted,” said a leader for Hotnews under the protection of anonymity.
Dan Motreanu is currently a MEP. In the past, he was three times a deputy (from 2004 to 2016). Motreanu is based on a teacher of history and physical education. It has been in PNL since 1997. In 2005, it entered the PNL executive office for the first time, according to its CV. In 2006-2007 he was the Minister of Agriculture.
Dan Motreanu was acquitted, in June 2019, by the High Court of Cassation and Justice in the file in which he was accused of receiving bribe for financing the 2008 election campaign. The decision was final.
