The meeting in Istanbul will be the third from the beginning of the year. However, both Kyiv and Moscow still present different positions on key issues regarding the future of the conflict.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pieskov, asked on Tuesday about the expectations of conversations, admitted that he did not provide for groundbreaking results. The composition of the Russian delegation remains unchanged – it is still headed by President's adviser Vladimir Miedinski.

Although the chances of a breakthrough are assessed as small, the meeting itself has a significant symbolic and diplomatic importance. Türkiye, as a conversation host, once again plays the role of an intermediary, seeking to maintain a communication channel between the parties, whose relations have been extremely tense for months.
