VII PiS Congress. Jarosław Kaczyński about the future of the party

The event began with the speech of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński, which – according to the information provided by the participants of the grouping – is to be a summary of the party's current activities. Then the delegates, who gathered about 1,500 people, began voting regarding the selection of the leader and decisions regarding the party's internal bodies.
PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek, even before Congress, announced significant changes in the composition of party management. “We want, apart from experienced politicians, such as members of the current political committee, younger faces, representatives of the 30- and 40-year-olds generations, appeared,” said Bochenek. He added that many of these people already have experience of parliamentary or ministerial activities.

Preparations for parliamentary elections
The main task, as noted, is “strengthening the party and preparation for upcoming parliamentary elections”. Bochenek emphasized that PiS after winning the presidential election is in a good place, but diligence and dynamics remain crucial to maintain a political advantage.
According to media reports, the new vice presidents may include Przemysław Czarnek and Anna Krupka. Currently, these functions are performed by, among others former prime ministers Beata Szydło and Mateusz Morawiecki, as well as Joachim Brudzinski, Mariusz Błaszczak and Antoni Macierewicz. The management structure is complemented by, among others Elżbieta Witek, Michał Wójcik and Patryk Jaki.
There was also a return to the words of Jarosław Kaczyński from 2021, when during the 6th Congress of PiS announced that this was his last term as president. “If there is a moment when I understand that it is beyond my possibilities, I will leave,” he said then. However, in a March interview for “network” the party leader changed his position, pointing to the need for “unity and decisive leadership in the camp”, which prompted him to re -run.
Formal re -election?
For many commentators, Kaczyński's choice for the next term seems to be a formality, which is confirmed by the assessments of PiS interviewers. Nevertheless, the announced changes in the party structure attract more attention, which are to prepare the grouping for current political challenges. Among the key goals, parliamentary choices are indicated, from which – as PiS spokesman claims – a lot depends “for the Polish state of state”.
We would like to remind you that Jarosław Kaczyński has been headed by Law and Justice since January 2003, when he took over the function from his brother Lech Kaczyński, the future president of the Republic of Poland. Under his leadership, the party went from the opposition to the hegemonic force of the Polish political scene. Time will show how the declared changes will affect the dynamics of the grouping. One thing is certain – PiS focuses on the younger generation.
