After the qualifications, the Ferrari pilot was delighted by his performance and emphasized that the improvements made by Scoderia at the beginning of the weekend made the difference.

He added that he hopes to be able to fight with McLaren in the race, because the Race of Ferrari is traditionally better than the qualifications.

I am very pleased. It's been a while since I left the front line (only two races). Overall, the season is difficult for us, but the team continues to shoot hard. This weekend I brought some new components, which certainly made the difference, because the differences are very small. I am very pleased with my tour. A good weekend start. We know that usually our car is stronger in the race, so I hope we can put pressure on McLaren. I can not imagine I take Lando's tour with our car, but we work in this direction. I don't want to minimize Lando's performance, it certainly did excellent. Congratulations on him is worth the pole position. We will try to make his life harder.
