The Romanian Super Cup, FCSB – CFR Cluj, is played on Saturday, July 5, from 8:00 pm, on the Steaua stadium. The match can be watched in LiveText format on GSP.ro.
Bîrligea was transferred from CFR Cluj to FCSB in the autumn of last year and had a clause that does not allow him to evolve against his former team without Gigi Becali paying an additional tax.

Gigi Becali paid him in the autumn of 2024 the sum of two million euros to Neluțu Varga to buy it on Bîrligea.
At that time, besides this amount, the officials from Cluj also imposed a clause in the contract, so that they could not evolve in the direct matches against his former team.
CFR would have accepted that Bîrligea would play if the amount of 100,000 euros had been paid at each match, but Gigi Becali did not accept something, and the champion striker was always outside the lot with Dan Petrescu's team.
However, the clause was valid only for the matches of the 2024-2025 season, so starting this season Bîrligea will be able to evolve without problems in the games against CFR Cluj, according to sportspesurse.ro.
Thus, he will be able to play in the first match of the new season, in the Romanian Super Cup, next Saturday, against the group he worked on between 2022-2024.
