“We have no money to solve our vital problems, but we have to make hyperdimensional stadiums. Perfect!”

In the context of cutting the financing to lift several stadiums, Ilie Bolojan offered a point of view. It invites the town halls of cities that want a new stadium to contribute up to 25 percent of the total percentage of costs.

He says that, thus, the town halls would be much more careful when they would issue claims.

“Hello! Mr. Premier, in the Governance Program is mentioned the staggering of investments from the state budget, including the Anghel Saligny program and the projects carried out through the CNI. I would like to ask if all the national programs, but especially Anghel Saligny and CNI, will be analyzed from the point of view of the efficiency, as you said, and if you said, reporters.

And Bolojan replied:

“I considered that after a government meeting that prepares the package of measures we will announce next week, it is normal to come in front of you, to explain what these problems are and to answer questions,” was the first message sent by the head of the Executive.

“And the investment component on the national budget, which is a party to the Ministry of Transport, part of the Ministry of Development, on the two components you have specified, must be evaluated and prioritized, because we cannot finance all the projects at the same rate, we do not have the necessary money. And then, an example must be done.

We have several stadiums in Romania, about which each locality, each big city, says it is a priority for it. Perfect. Then I think we could introduce a program in which, to say, according to your administrative capacity, so the budget you have – you have big budgets, contribute more, you have small budgets, contribute less -, these projects are done after a co -financing by the respective City Hall.

Because if it is an important project for you, it means that you do not want everything to come from the Government, but you are willing to put, I do not know, 15%, 20%, 25%of the money, yes? And that seems to me a matter of score but Then I am convinced that the City Hall, I do not give you a city name, will think very well if the stadium we want to be 30,000 seats or 12,000 seats.

We have stadiums in Romania that have never been filled since they were completed, in which the mayors have committed that they will take the utilities, they did not take them, they took the whole state.

We are in the situation where we do not have enough money to solve our vital problems that we have addressed before, but, of course, we have to do the hyperdimensional and very important stadiums for the local community. It's very good, but it seems to me a fair-play issue. And then I give you an example: we have five stadiums and we introduce a 25%co -financing. What will we have? If we finance four, we have one for free, one extra. We might have a lot more.

Do you know why? Because the City Hall might find out that they don't want 12,000 places. It's good and 5,000. They don't want 30,000, it's good and 14,000. But how long do you get something for free, it is to be received. The moment you have a responsibility, what happens everywhere, then you think very well: is it really necessary? Yes. How much is necessary, that is, as intensity, and in size? And, believe me, the City Hall then diminishes its request correctly!

I gave you an example of approach, prioritization. Otherwise, everyone will say that a stadium in Oradea must be in western Romania, for example, or others will want in the southeast, in Constanța.

But if correct and honest conditions are put, for whom it is important, it will come with a co -financing not at the end of the work, that it does not come sometimes, that it has happened. No, at every payment, in a specially dedicated account! And it seems to me a matter … if you get a priority, you have a football team or you have no football team. We have no football team, but we are stadium. Perfect. It's okay”, Said Ilie Bolojan.
