The new priority targets of Ukrainian drone pilots. The reaction of the Russian pro-war bloggers

Ukraine's drone forces have reviewed this month the system of points that reward pilots for the victories on the battlefield, in a new tactic that has attracted the attention and the Russian bloggers, reports Business Insider.

Established last year to stimulate performance against rewards consisting of equipment, the point system initially emphasized the most valuable targets at that time: Russian tanks and artillery. Thus, the destruction of a tank would have brought the drone 40-point pilots, compared to only eight, a revealing relegation for the current environment. At the same time, the destruction of multiple rocket launch systems previously rewarded with 50 points now is worth only 10 points.

Currently, the priority targets are the operators of Russian drones and, indirectly, the much more numerous infantry.

“We have to stimulate the pilots to orient themselves to the destruction of the staff,” explained Major Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, the new commander of Ukraine unanswered systems, in a video intervention on June 12. Brovdi is the founder of the drone attack unit of the Hungarian birds within the body of the Ukrainian marine infantrymen.

The point system required revision against increased concerns that Ukrainian drone units did not eliminate Russian infantry as quickly as they would not allow Moscow to accumulate surplus troops on the front line.

Ukrainian pilots now get 15 points for injury to a drone pilot and 25 to eliminate it.

At the same time, I can earn a double number of points to eliminate a Russian soldier, from six to 12 points.

On the other hand, the revised point system is only a recognition of developments on the battlefield and a new way of prioritizing targets.

“I do not know any pilot who, when detecting a mechanized armored column of the moving enemy-tanks, BTRs-not to hit them just because it does not receive a bonus. It is absurd,” stressed the Ukrainian commander.

Reactions from Russian bloggers pro-rose

“Bad news on the front,” wrote Alexander Harcenko, a war -specialist journalist, who manages the Telegram Witnesses Bayraktar channel, warning about a “drone operator hunt.”.

“From my own experience, I can say that the pressure on logistics has now reduced and all efforts have been redirected towards identifying and destroying our drone crews,” he wrote, in a post, on Saturday.

“We need to improve the camouflage and change the positions more frequently,” he added.

Another Russian military blogger, Laboratory of the Svo, advised Russian drone teams to disperse, urging drone pilots and operators to stay separately.

“There is no need to wander everywhere,” they wrote on Monday. “You are a scout. Less movement means a longer life.”

How did the point system appear and why it is important for Ukrainian troops

The initial purpose of the system was to encourage drone units to increase their efficiency against enemy targets. The points obtained as a reward could be used to purchase drone equipment – an advantage in the context in which many units are based on both the resources offered by the state and the funds obtained to continue the fights.

In order to claim their points, the units must film and record the blows.

In April, Ukraine launched what was described as a website in the Amazon style, which officials said they offer over 1,000 types of equipment, including batteries, weapons and satellite communications.

The new commander of the drone forces said that, according to the new score, the elimination of a typical team of three drones could bring to a sufficient Ukrainian unit to get 57 FPV drones, which usually cost about $ 500.

According to his account, 507 Ukrainian units report their number of points monthly.

The Ukrainian commander also said that he intends to invite the leaders of the first 12 drin units, according to the ranking, along with representatives of other randomly selected units, to provide counseling in a discussion group.

“In this way,” he said, “we will model any situation and optimize the bonus model, which we will propose to the responsible authorities.”
