US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he immediately breaks commercial negotiations with Canada, because this country did not withdraw from plans to impose tax on digital services. He announced that during the week he would inform Canada about the new duties rate for goods from this country.

“We have just been informed that Canada, a country with which it is very difficult to trade (…) has just announced that it introduces tax on digital services to our American technology companies, which is a direct and gross attack on our country,” wrote Trump on the Truth Social social network. “It is obvious that they copy the European Union, which has done the same and this is currently the subject of talks with us. Based on this gross tax, we end all discussions about trade with Canada, with immediate effect. We will inform Canada about the tariff, which will pay for conducting interests with the United States of America in the next seven days” – added.
