Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a criminal liability law for dropper. The corresponding document is published on the portal of legal information.

The law makes amendments to Art. 187 of the Criminal Code (illegal circulation of payments) and introduces criminal liability for persons who for remuneration transfer to fraudsters the data of their bank accounts and cards. In the future, these details can be used to transfer and cash out stolen money.

If it is proved that a person transferred the data of his electronic payment funds to attackers from selfish motives, he faces a fine of 100 to 300 thousand rubles or in the amount of income for a period of 3 months to 1 year, mandatory work up to 480 hours and correctional work for up to 2 years, or restriction of freedom for the same period. Persons who have committed fraudulent actions using a bank card at the direction of another person will be carried by a similar punishment.
