On Wednesday, June 25, at the headquarters of the Professional Football League, there is a draw of the competition program in Superliga, the 2025-2026 edition. The first stage is scheduled between July 11-14, 2025, and the last matches will be played between 22 and 25, 2026.
The superliga is ready to start, and today the full program of the new competition season is established.
16 teams will enter the ballot box, and FCSB will benefit from an advantage: it will not be able to meet CFR Cluj, Craiova University and Cluj University in the first six stages of the championship.
Craiova and U Cluj, away in the first stage
There will be several special requirements that must be respected when drawing on Wednesdays.
For example, Craiova University asked to play in the first stage of the new season.
The same request came from from U Cluj, who informed the Professional Football League that he wants to evolve on the move and in the 3rd and 5th stages.
In addition, Oțelul Galați club officials have asked the team to play on their own ground in the first stage.
Slobozia and Metaloglobus will play at Clinceni
In addition to the requests made by Craiova University, Cluj University and Steel Galați, there are two important mentions that the Professional Football League must take into account the draw on Wednesdays.
Unirea Slobozia and Metaloglobus will play the “home” matches on the Clinceni stadium in the new season. In this context, it is necessary for one of the teams to play “at home”, and the other “away” at each stage, to avoid overlapping.
There is a possibility that Unirea Slobozia will return to her own stadium in Ialomița county, but, according to the information obtained by the GSP, there are some aspects that need to be resolved.
These include the modernization of the changing rooms, the arrangement of an anti -doping office and a locker room for the referees, the connection of the stadium to the fiber optic network, the arrangement of special areas for lime, as well as the installation of tourniquets and video surveillance systems.
What will happen at the end of the season
- The same as in the previous season, The team ranked 1st, the Romanian champion, will access in the preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League.
- The winner of the Romanian Cup will participate in the preliminary round of the UEFA Europa League.
- The 2nd place in the Superliga will go in the preliminary round of the UEFA Conference League.
- The 3rd place will play a dam with the winner of the dam between the teams in the play-out, for a place in the same European competition.
- The teams ranked in 13 and 14 places will play dam matches for maintaining/promotion, against the teams on 3 and 4 places in the Second League.
- Instead, the teams in places 15 and 16 will relegate directly into the second step.
