The French police detained 12 suspects, after 145 people reported that they were stung with the syringe during an annual street music festival this weekend, The Guardian reports on Monday.
Millions of people went out on the streets on Saturday in France, for the Fête Festival in Musique. In Paris, the authorities reported “unprecedented crowds”.
Prior to the event, Abrège Soeur, influencer feminist, warned in the online environment that calls were made on social networks to sting women with syringes. It was unclear where such messages were posted and by whom.
The French Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that 145 people in the country have claimed that they were stung with needles during the open -air musical events. The Paris police reported 13 cases in the capital.
“Some victims were taken to the hospital for toxicological tests,” the institution said.
In Paris, the investigations were opened after three people, including a 15 -year -old girl and a 18 -year -old boy, reported that they were stung, during separate incidents, prosecutors said. None of the three people in question feel good.
12 detained suspects
At the national level, 12 persons were detained, according to the ministry. A source of the police said that among them are four people from Angoulême, a city in southwestern France, who are suspected of targeting around 50 victims.
Also under the suspicion of attacks with the syringe were detained two men at Metz, a city in the northeast of the country. France 3 regional public television reported that a man was caught with a syringe, and a woman who claimed was stung.
The Local Prosecutor's Office in Metz said it is believed that the alleged victims are under 18. One of the supposed suspects, a 20 -year -old man, was known by the police for acts of violence.
The public local radio station ICI France reported that several young people claimed that they were stung with syringes in évrex and Rouen, in Normandy. A woman was taken to the hospital with pain in her left arm. In the city of Tours, in the west of the country, 13 women told firefighters at a musical event that they were stung by someone with a syringe.
During the national festival this weekend, more than 370 people were detained, under different accusations, of which 90 in Paris.
14 people were injured in the margin of the festivities, including a 17 -year -old teenager who was found sitting on the street with stabbing wounds in the lower abdomen. Also, 13 members of the law enforcement were injured.
