More expensive again in stores. One product recorded a great increase


We now have to pay PLN 104 and 64 groszy for the basket of basic food products – according to the data of the popular Panparagon application. This is an increase of 56 groszy compared to the previous week.
Shopping is getting more and more expensive – not only relative to last week, but also if we consider the same period of last year. At that time, we paid 102 PLN and 54 groszy for identical purchases.

Paprika prices soared in a week by almost 10 percent. At the moment, we have to pay an average of PLN 13 for 1 kg 37 gr. Last year it was slightly less – PLN 13 and 29 gr.
Apples, potatoes, bananas and carrots are also getting more expensive in a weekly basis. In turn, it is cheaper than a week ago such articles as oil, milk or flour. However, the raspberry tomato was most common – by 4 percent. compared to the previous week. However, we have to pay much more for it than a year ago. Now 1 kg costs PLN 12 68 groszy, a year ago it was PLN 10 94 gr.

And how does GUS see inflation? Prices of consumer goods and services in May 2025 increased by 4 %, and compared to the previous month, prices fell by 0.2 percent. – results from the latest data. Food, however, increased by as much as 5.4 percent.
