Flexible employment or what? Companies complain of low team commitment

The authors of the publication explained that the flexibility of work is a multidimensional concept can mean a multitude of employment forms – flexible working hours, remote or hybrid models of duties. “It is also the development of competences, a change of position or even a complete change in the industry as part of an individual career path” – added.
According to the results of the study, currently 55.7 percent enterprises use flexible forms of employment. Companies from the service industry as well as transport and logistics (64.6 percent), trade (56.4 percent) and industry (54.5 percent) most often reach for such forms, while the public sector (47.1 percent) is the shortest.
Nearly every third surveyed company (27.8 percent) assessed that it is faced with the problem of a low level of involvement of people working in such a model.
“These fears are particularly clear in the transport and logistics sector. Equally important is the greater risk of rotation (27.8 percent), noticed primarily in large organizations, service, industrial and transport and logistics companies” – said.
In turn, 26.1 percent enterprises indicated that it had difficulties in recruiting employees interested in working in such a model. Most often they indicated such small companies (29 percent). Employers also paid attention to problems with team integration (25.9 percent), which is most visible in large companies (30 %). Almost 20 percent Companies also pointed to administrative difficulties and a greater burden on HR departments.
32.7 percent surveyed employees were of the opinion that flexible forms of employment were conducive to gaining professional experience. This opinion is mainly shared by the youngest generations, more often men than women (36 % vs. 30 percent). In turn, 31.5 percent The respondents were the task that such forms of employment allowed for better adaptation of work to individual needs. Younger employees also prevail in this matter, but this time women (34 percent) more often agree with this statement than men (29 %).
In addition, 36.2 percent respondents showed openness to flexible working hours. “It is also worth noting that over 28 percent of respondents are ready to change their position or scope of responsibilities, and over 23 percent to work in a new profession or industry,” the information was reported. Respondents declared that they are also open to flexible forms of work, such as temporary work, contract or civil law contracts (16.5 percent), “although at the same time only 10.5 percent indicated that they prefer stable conditions and is not interested in flexible solutions.”
The study was conducted at a sample of over 500 representatives of companies and over 500 employees.
