Manchester City has been fined just over 1 million pounds by the Premier League. The reason? Delays at the start and resumption of matches last season.
Nine of the “citizens” matches last season began later than foreseen or were resumed late.
The longest delay was at the beginning of the second half of the December Manchester derby, which was 2 minutes and 24 seconds. The local rival, United, won that match with 2-1.
Manchester City, fined by the English League with £ 1 million
Cumulative, for the 9 delays, the Manchester club and Premier League agreed a fine of 1.08 million pounds. City has 14 days to pay the amount, the Premier League announced in a statement quoted by Sportal.bg.
A season ago, the total fine for the same violations of “citizens” was 2.09 million pounds, due to delays in 22 matches. Then, Pep Guardiola said he would try to shorten the discussions with the players.
