Irena Eris, actually Irena Szołomicka-Orfinger (Eris is a cluster of letters from her name and maiden name) is a doctor of pharmacy and founder of Dr. Irena Eris SA. Thanks to the success of her Empire, she is also one of the most famous Polish businesswomen. In 2023 according to the “Forbes” ranking took the 7th place on the list of the richest women with property worth PLN 609 million.
The beginnings of the Empire of Dr. Irena Eris date back to 1983, when as a 33-year-old pharmacist and young mother put everything on one card. She abandoned a full -time job in the state polf to create from scratch her own craft company producing creams. “I said many times in interviews that I had the right knowledge and I couldn't do something that I would not have had a clue” – Dr. Irena Eris said in an interview with Wirtualnekosmetyki.pl.
Anyway, she began to do creams while still in college. In the laboratory at the university she produced cosmetics for her, family and friends. She began to run the company in Piaseczno near Warsaw. And so it has remained to this day.

“I borrowed money from my mother,” says Irena Eris
She started in a rented room after a former bakery. She produced creams in a metal pot, and mixed the ingredients with a drill.
“To start business, I borrowed money from my mother. She could buy six Fiat 126p for the amount, which she unexpectedly got inherited. It was not her investment, just a loan. I really wanted to be independent, I wanted to return this money. Despite the difficult beginning, I gave the whole sum. I gave it back and I was very proud of it” – She talked about the company's beginnings in an interview with the Portal Zabie Zafirma.pl.
Gradually expanded the range, and after three years the company began to bring income. In 1987, her husband, Henryk Orfinger, resigned from a state job in the ministry to develop a business with his wife.
As Dr. Irena Eris recalls, the success that her company has achieved is not only the result of hard work. “I didn't think about a big enterprise. What the whole company looks like today is of course the result of huge work and consistency in action, but also a bit thanks to the happy coincidence” – She told the website more and more best.

Today, the flagship products of Dr. Irena Eris are: Dr. Irena Eris, Pharmaceris, Emotopic, Lirene and Under Twenty. Annually from the production lines dr Irena Eris SA goes down Over 25 million cosmetics.
Her innovative creams are valued not only in Poland, but also in the most distant corners of the world. They love them, among others Arabian. And Dr. Irena Eris is the only cosmetic brand outside France, which belongs to the elite association of the best luxury mothers of Comité Colbert, among which are Chanel, Dior or Louis Vuitton.
For years, a network of luxury SPA hotels has also been operating. To date, three such facilities have been created: on the Dylewskie Hills, in Krynica and in Polanica-Zdrój.

Half a century of marriage of Irena Eris with Henryk Orfinger
Speaking of the successes of Dr. Irena Eris, it is impossible not to mention the happy marriage with Henryk Orfinger. The couple got married in 1974, and Dr. Irena Eris often emphasizes in interviews that it is her husband who indirectly owes her success. It was Henryk Orfinger who encouraged the pharmacist working in Polfie to give up stable work And she focused on business. From the beginning he believed in her success and supported him logistically, including Spreading the first creams produced by his wife with little Fiat throughout Poland.
“Ultimately, my husband, Henryk Orfinger, convinced me to the company, who stayed full -time, so that we would have something to live in case of a flap of the undertaking” – She told Onet a few years ago.
The spouses have two sons who are 18 years old. They both graduated from the Polish-Japanese University of Computer Technology. After many conversations in the family, a decision was made for your older son Paweł to continue the work. In June 2019 he became the new president of Dr. Irena Eris, replacing his father in this position.

Life without a mobile phone
Today, Irena Eris is 74 years old and lives on her own terms, still looking after the company from the rear chair. As she admitted four years ago in an interview with Business Insider, the day always starts with coffee. “Alarm clock is always set to 6. to be able to easily enter a new day. My morning ritual is coffee, outstanding newspapers and radio. Only then do I go to work” – She said.
Although her company uses the latest technologies, in private life Dr. Irena Eris does not chase novelties and does not have a mobile phone.
“I know it's strange. I think that a cell phone makes life easier, but also complicates. I came to the conclusion that I didn't need anything. I don't want to go crazy. People live by phones that today play the role of computers. And I want to maintain interpersonal relationships, have direct contact with loved ones. This is important today, when we lack time for everything and the phone will not replace a face -to -face conversation ” – She spoke in an interview with Business Insider, adding that she did not have to give up the phone suddenly because she never had him.
