The ceremony took place in a restaurant in Ambiimalaza, and about 50 people participated in it – primarily people aged 20 to 30, studying at a private university. The menu included both meat dishes and those suitable for vegetarians.
At some point, some guests began to complain of disturbing symptoms, including dizziness, visual disturbances, nausea, severe abdominal pain and joint ailments – Polsat News says.
The events took on an extremely tragic turn because one person died during the event. The party was immediately completed, and all who complained of dangerous symptoms were transported to the Warsaw hospitals.
The next day, it was confirmed that the number of fatalities increased to 10 – among them was the birthday boy and the owner of the premises, who also consumed dishes served that evening.
Families of the victims expressed that poisoning was not a coincidence. The Minister of Public Health, Zyly Randramanantany, pointed out in an official statement that patients are subjected to intensive therapy, and in connection with the suspicion of deliberate operation of the service began to investigate.
