An NGO sponsor 6 athletes in the lot

GSP.ro spoke to Andreea Paul, who knows the poor situation in Kaiac-Canoe. He felt it for 5 years since his daughter practiced this sport.

He says that “initially, we announced there, on the Facebook page of the FRKC, that we can support only one athlete from the junior and youth lot to reach the World Cup in Portugal. But then, talking to Mr. President Bîrlădeanu, I understood the gravity of things and we decided to help 6 athletes to be able to participate in this competition.

Tomorrow I will go to Bascov, where the lot is, to meet the 6 we will help, but which will be designated by FRKC. It will be difficult. How to tell a child who has worked so much in recent years that you choose someone, but not him? It's a real trauma, which can leave traces. But so much we can do. It costs us about 25,000 euros the accommodation and mass of these 6 athletes, without the air tickets, which are very expensive. “

But Inaco is trying to get the support of other partners to find solutions, so that all 20 athletes in the junior and youth team can compete at the World Cup in Portugal.

Andreea Paul: “We cannot stay and help these children”

The smallest kaiacists or canoiists, even by the lot, buy their boats alone

It is not the first initiative of Inaco in the world of Romanian kayak and canoe. Also Andreea Paul tells that “5 years old, since our daughter took this sport, I decided to help children from Kaiac CSS 6 in Bucharest. At that time there were only 3 athletes, now I reached 27, of which 9 are in the junior and youth lot.

At the last national championships we ranked 1st in the country, according to the number of medals obtained at a juvenile level. And we want to move on, to get world, European, for Romania! “.

How much does it cost to do kaiac-canoe in Romania, at the performance level? The answer is already classic: “Very much!” Andreea Paul confesses that “the monthly costs would not be so high, but the problem is with the boats. A simple one is 5,000 euros, for double 7,500 euros, and the K4 costs over 10,000 euros.

I started a special program, Rekaro, that is, the Renaissance of the Romanian Kaiac, through which Inaco, with the help of partner companies, bought several boats for the Kaiac CSS6 club. I also used personal funds when appropriate. And when we go to the lot, to Bascov, we take each boat in the back and go with it.

We also compete with the same boats in competitions, including international ones. Because FRKC can only provide boats for centralized lots. We, the rest, who are in the lot, but we are preparing for clubs, we have to buy them alone. That is the situation. That is why I say that there is a need for work, there, at the base, of team spirit, not to throw now with reproaches and frustrations. “

Already 13 athletes out of 20 have found sponsorships

President Ioan Bîrlădeanu confirmed that in the last days he has received assurances that several athletes from the junior and youth lot will be helped to reach and compete at Portugal:

“At this moment, we can take 12 athletes there, with the help of the funds of the people around this sport. And we, from the Federation's resources, will ensure the move for another sportsman with a medal and a coach. We could not stay, do nothing. Poor, poor, but not even so!

In addition, we will also ensure the transport of boats to Portugal, it will cost us 4,000-5,000 errors. So at this moment there are already 13 athletes assured that they will participate in the World Cup. There are still 7 more, but the world is mobilized and we believe that in the end we will be able to take them all.

This is what, parents and various companies sponsor the federation in such situations. We will give them the invoices from the organizers, we, the FRKC, we do not take anything extra. I have seen what they say and those who criticize us, who accuse us, but I do not have time to answer them. We did not secure our salaries all year. At this moment, we can give salaries until July. From August, I don't know what we will do.

We do not have an oversized organizational chart, we are only 15 employees at the Federation. And the boats never provided their federation, but the CSNs, that is, national sports complexes, such as those from Bascov or Snagov. We, the Federation, are not allowed to hold boats.

They buy them and provide them for the athletes from the lot. No boats have been taken for three years. Yes, there are still cases where some come with their boats, as is the case with CSS 6. It's very good what they do there. But there are isolated cases. Of course, they come with their boats, which they train all the time, with whom they are accustomed, they only do not change them before European. “

They barely get darling for Bascov's tracks
