“Only a fight was gained”

Federation rejected the final judgment from TASwhich gave the former footballer win. He was going to receive from the club the sum of 65,079 euros, plus interest. Rapid also risks starting the future season with a penalty and forbid for transfers.

Authorized sources told GSP.ro that “This is just the beginning and it will take it until it ends with the appeals, which would be 4 or 5. It was only a fight, not just the war.”

FRF rejected TAS's decision on the process between Rapid and Ionuț Stancu

The FRF rejected the TAS decision regarding the process between Rapid and Ionuț Stancu. The Court of Sports Arbitration gave the former player, who was to receive over 65,000 euros, plus penalties, from the club.

Also, the club risks being deposited at the beginning of the new season of Superliga and receiving forbidden for transfers.

“Stancu Ionuț Cristian Vs. FC Rapid 1923 SA – non -performance TAS decision – rejects the request for sanction made by Stancu Ionuț Cristian as prematurely introduced”, It is shown in the official statement of the FRF.

Authorized sources told GSP.ro that at least 4 other appeals will follow.

• The file lost by Rapid to Tas comes from the bankruptcy of the old club. The dispute is with Ionuț Stancu, former footballer of Giulesti in 2004-2011

• According to the decision of TAS, Stancu had to receive 65,079 euros, plus 755 euros due on December 31, 2011 and 5% per year since December 31, 2011

• In 2012, Rapid went bankrupt, and Stancu registered his debt in the bankruptcy procedure and was admitted to the creditor's quality

• January 2, 2024 – appeals to TAS, request that the case be judged by a unique, fast and FRF arbitrator appears together on the list of complaints

• September 19, 2024 – The Commission for athletes of the International Sports Arbitration Council accepts to bear the arbitration costs at TAS

• November 29, 2024 – Cesare Gabasio is designated the unique referee

• January 15, 2025 – hearing in video conferencing: Ionuț Stancu, Cosmin Pană (lawyer), for Rapid – Marian Mihail (lawyer), Diana Florescu (legal counselor)

• May 12, 2025 – TAS officially communicated the decision

• June 18, 2025 – FRF rejected the request for sanction made by Stancu Ionuț Cristian as prematurely introduced

It's a process that lasts for a long time. I do not want the evil of the Rapid, on the contrary-it is a club that I respect a lot. It is part of my beautiful past. But I only did to ask for a right, because it is about some money for which I worked and it is normal to receive them
