Even after the completion of military operations in Ukraine, the threats flowing from Russia for the internal security of the EU will persist. According to countries bordering Russia, EU Member States should take all steps to ensure that people who served or acted for the benefit of Russian armed forces or other armed groups related to the Russian regime will not be able to move freely in the Schengen zone. It is important to avoid granting residence permits or visas to those who participated in the aggressive war against Ukraine, “the ministers appealed.
During the meeting in Tallinn, it was emphasized that the EU land border is particularly sensitive to instrumentally controlled migration, and organized criminal networks and hostile countries are increasingly using new technologies to achieve their goals. “Our common duty is to warn these threats” – summed up the heads of the Ministry of the Interior of the Ministry of the Interior, seven countries bordering Russia, at the same time calling for the development of a comprehensive drone system and modern infrastructure for border services on the eastern border.
