If the government does not get from the European Union on the Ecological Duty SVAM, the GDP of Ukraine will fall 6.3%and the volumes of processing industry – by 17.1%. Because of this, the budget will lose a minimum of $ 4 billion in tax revenues. And the number of lost jobs will reach almost 120 thousand, says People's Deputy Musa Magomedov.
Ukraine has all the legal grounds for asking for a deferral of SVAM: the EU Regulations clearly stated that in the case of force majeure caused by unpredictable events, the state may obtain exceptions from CBAM. The full -scale invasion of Russia is exactly the event. Because neither Ukraine nor all our Western partners can stop it.
Since February 2022, Ukraine has not been able to modernize production or implement a systematic decarbonization policy. Therefore, deferral is our only way out if we do not want to lose the viability of the economy.
