Dacia is preparing to launch in the coming years new models, not less than eight, among them a new version of Dacia Bigster, presented in the form of SUV Coupe.

According to the information transmitted by the journalists of the publication “L'AUTO MAGAZINE”, the new model from Dacia Bigster will only be marketed in Latin America.

In Latin America, a large SUV Coupe of the Dacia Duster model is planned for 2026. About the idea of launching this model, the first clues have appeared since 2023, but now there are new information, especially since this variant will not be derived from Dacia Duster, but rather from his older “brother”, Dacia Bigster.

Thus, it will benefit from a slope ceiling and will have a more exclusive design than the classic SUV. Also, the more generous dimensions of the new top model of the Romanian brand are more suitable for this SUV Coupe, which is usually longer than the classic SUVs from which it derives.

Dacia Duster, with a length of 4.34 meters, is too short to be transformed into an SUV Coupé, unless the space for the rear passengers or the volume of the trunk, a compromise that the future Dacia Bigster Coupé will not do.

This new Dacia Bigster Coupé model will be marketed under the Renault brand, because Dacia is not present in Latin America, and will become the top model that already includes Renault Kardian, another model specially created for this market.

According to the source mentioned above, it is not excluded that the new model is called “Renault Niagara”.

It will not be for the first time that the Renault group will rename Dacia Bigster. In India, it will be produced in the Chennai plant, divided by Nissan, and will be sold under both Renault and Japanese brand. There will be a peculiarity that the European version will not benefit: a 7 -seater configuration.

There will also be another difference, under the hood: the Coupé Bigster SUV for South America will not focus on hybrid engines. The 1.8 -liter block with electric motor, which develops a total of 155 hp, is not provided for this model. Instead, it will opt for 125 hp Flexfuel petrol engines, capable of operating with pure E100 ethanol, a highly appreciated fuel in the region.
