Lawrence Christian (30 years old) was one of Air India's passengers from Ahmedabad to London, an aircraft that collapsed last week. He had come to India at the burial of his father, and now his family is preparing for a new funeral, writes Reuters.

Lawrence Christian worked in the UK but had returned to Ahmedabad after his father's death, and last week he wanted to return to work.

“When he got on the plane, he gave me a video call to say goodbye. The last thing he told me was to close his phone and that he would call me after he lands,” he said his mother Ravina, along with the daughter.

Except for one man, all those on board died in the largest aviation catastrophe in the last decade. Apart from the 241 dead on board, 30 other people were killed on the ground.

Ravina Christian lost her husband, Daniel, in May following a heart disease, and her son remained the only one in the family who had an income.

“We lost everything, we were left alone. The strength, our pride, everything went. We lost the light of our house,” says Salvina Christian, Lawrence's grandmother. Now the family is waiting for the authorities to hand over their body.

Doctors in the largest hospital in Ahmedabad are based on DNA samples to identify the dead.

Imitaz Ali Sayed awaits the identification of his brother and sister -in -law's remains, as well as their two children, a six -year -old boy and a four -year -old daughter.

The four have visited India for a family meeting, and are now considered dead, but Imitaz Ali Sayed says he still hopes that his relatives have survived. “It is still hope. Everything is possible. The Almighty decides who dies and who lives,” the man said while waiting for the hospital about his brother and his family.
