“President Putin called me in the morning to make me very nice birthday wishes, but, more importantly, to talk about Iran, a country that he knows very well,” wrote Trump, who is 79 years old on Saturday.
In an entry published in his social network, Truth Social, the president noted that the conversation lasted about an hour.
“We devoted much less time to a conversation about Russia/Ukraine, but this (we will take care of) next week. (Putin) carries out planned exchanges of prisoners – large numbers of prisoners are replaced, immediately, on both sides” – added Trump.
“He, like me, believes that the Israeli -Iranian war should end, and I explained to him that his war should also end,” Trump said.
Earlier, the Reuters agency informed about the conversation, citing a representative of the White House and the Kremlin.
