The traffic on the bridge of “Friendship” Giurgiu-Ruse stops completely at night, for 8 hours. What alternative routes are

The traffic will be stopped on the bridge of “Friendship” Giurgiu-Ruse, for all categories of vehicles, for eight hours, on the night of June 12 to 13, for urgent repairs on the Bulgarian side.
The measure is in force from 8:00 pm, until tomorrow morning, June 13, at 4:00.
“The Bulgarian authorities inform that the bridge of” Friendship “Giurgiu-Ruse will be completely closed to circulation during the period 12.06.2025 (8.00 pm)-13.06.2025 (04.00), in order to execute repair works on the Bulgarian side,” Giurgiu Prefecture said on Monday.
Thus, it will be forbidden to pass on the bridge all types of vehicles in both directions – from the Republic of Bulgaria to Romania and from Romania to the Republic of Bulgaria.
A travel alert in this regard was also issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who recommends to Romanians who intend to transit the Danube I Giurgiu – Ruse bridge to take into account the mentioned period in which the road traffic will be stopped for crossing and to use the other crossing points between Romania and the Republic of Bulgaria, as follows: as follows:
- Vidin – Calafat,
- Kardam – Black Voda,
- Silistra – Ostrov Călăraşi,
- Dobromir – Krushari and Kainardzha – Lipnita,
- Nikopol – Turnu Măgurele (Feribot),
- Svishtov – Zimnicea (Feribot),
- Oyahovo – Bechet (Feribot),
- Aydemir (Silistra) – Chiciu (Călăraşi) (Feribot).
