Israel has informed the US that it is ready to launch an operation against Iran. Trump's cryptic response about the situation in the area: “You will see”

Washington and Tehran officials continue to meet to discuss the Iranian nuclear program, but Washington has asked for US citizens in the Middle East, writes CBS News.

US officials have been informed that Israel is prepared to launch an operation against Iran, according to several sources quoted by CBS News.

Washington anticipates that in such a scenario, Iran could respond, hitting certain American goals in Iraq.

This is one of the reasons why the US advised some Americans to leave the region on Wednesday morning.

The State Department has ordered government officials who are not essential to leave Iraq due to “increased regional tensions”, and the Pentagon authorized members of military families voluntarily leave locations in the Middle East, a defense official told CBS News.

Trump's answer

President Trump's emissary in the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, continues to meet with Tehran officials for the sixth round of negotiations on the country's nuclear program in the coming days, two American officials said.

Donald Trump spoke about Iran at a Kennedy Center on Wednesday, telling reporters that Americans were advised to leave the region “because it could be a dangerous place and we will see what will happen.”

Trump also reiterated that the US does not want Iran to develop a nuclear weapon. “We will not allow that,” he said.

When asked at the White House why the members of the families of the military personnel were urged to leave the region, Trump replied: “You will see.”

The threat of Tehran

Meanwhile, the Iranial Minister of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh, said on Wednesday that if nuclear negotiations fail and “we are imposed a conflict”, the guards of the Islamic Revolution “will target all the American bases in the host countries.”

The commercial maritime organization of the United Kingdom recommended on Wednesday to be cautious in the Persian Gulf, the Hormuz Strait and the Gulf of Oman – three key waterways for the World Petroleum Trade – due to “increased tensions in the region, which could lead to an escalation of military activity.”

Israeli officials and white house spokes have refused to comment.

The Trump administration has sought to conclude an agreement with Iran to limit the country's nuclear program, as international supervisory bodies claim that the country has continued to enrich uranium to a level close to the manufacture of weapons. The discussions are delicate and it is not clear how close the two parties are.

Trump said he will not accept any of the uranium enrichment, but Iranian leaders have indicated that they will not accept these conditions.

Last month, Trump said that in urging Netanyahu not to attack Iran

For years, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been deeply skeptical about any agreement with Iran.

Israel and Iran are in conflict from the Iran Revolution of 1979. Netanyahu's office states that Israel has carried out “countless open and secret operations” to prevent the development of the nuclear program of Iran.

Last month, Trump said that he urged Netanyahu not to attack Iran while his administration continues negotiations with the regime.

“I told him that it would be wrong to do this at this time, because we are very close to a solution,” the president said.

Iranian nuclear program problem

Iran's nuclear program has decades, although the Tehran has longed for the program is intended exclusively for peaceful goals.

In 2015, former President Barack Obama concluded an agreement with the Iran by which the extent of the Uranium enrichment program was limited, despite Netanyahu's objections, who claimed that Iran was not reliable and secretly violated the agreement.

Trump has left the agreement during his first term and intensified the sanctions against Iran, while the Tehran has expanded its strongly enriched uranium stock.

In a report published two weeks ago, the International Atomic Energy Agency estimated that Iran enriched 408.6 kilograms of uranium up to a 60% purity-which is very close to the 90% enrichment level for the construction of a nuclear weapon.

This represents a significant increase in the stock of 274.8 kilograms estimated by the United Nations in February.

“There are numerous indications that they are going to something that would look like a nuclear weapon,” the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday.
