Gheorghe Viscreanu (63 years old), former colleague with Marcel Sabou at Dinamo, reacted after his death. The two were the protagonists of an incredible moment from the period when Romania was under the communist regime.

During the time they evolved for Dinamo, in a friendly tour in Spain, Viscreanu and Sabou they left the hotel and went to the airport to run to Frankfurt. Arriving in Germany, the two were returned to Madrid because they had no visa for Germany.

Subsequently, the two signed contracts valid for 3 years with Rayo Vallecano, but were not allowed to play in the first season. Any footballer who was running from the communist block was automatically suspended for a year. Viscreanu and Sabou had an agreement, not to sign any contract without each other.

However, the “pact” was violated by the Sabou, who signed with Real Madrid Castilla, which led to the destruction of the friendship between them.

Gheorghe Viscreanu reacted after the death of Marcel Sabou: “Our history has made the world around”

“Yesterday my former colleague from Dinamo Bucharest died, for a while at Rayo Vallecano (where he left, before playing) but especially my colleague from the communist dictatorship of Ceausescu, Marcel Sabou.

Together with Marcel Sabou I lived the most incredible escape from the history of communism. Our history has gone around the world! I speak of the Western world. In the communist countries, nothing was written.

Even though I have written many times about our escape no one has never known full history. There are at most 10 people who know certain things, but I have kept many things I never talked about.

Marcel Sabou would never have fled to the West if I had not convinced him. I had an experience with the attempt to escape at the Australia World Championship and should have been our destiny. In order not to break up after we had lived the most fascinating, incredible flight we stayed together in Spain by giving up Australia.

Our lives were totally different from that moment. Marcel Sabou lived an excellent life in Spain until this terrible disease was diagnosed, Lou Gehrig's disease, Als in English, Ela in Spanish.

The best he was going to Marcel Sabou, after leaving Rayo Vallecano the worse me. It is a whole history that I have not talked about. Even though we haven't talked in the last 15 years, even though many times in the 35 years we were talking very rarely, we could not relive that incredible run, hundreds of times and everything that happened after we broke up.

Of a certain form from a physical and spiritual point of view, Marcel Sabou has often disappeared for me, but what we have lived together I could never delete forever. Life made me harsh but my heart and soul were forever the same. I had forgiven you in my heart and soul. May God forgive you Marcel Sabou! Eternal rest! ”, Was the message of Gheorghe Viscreanu, posted on his personal Facebook account.
