Bestsellere author Frederick Forsyth, known for Roman Thriller as “Shak Day”, has died at the age of 86, his agent announced, according to the BBC.

“We are crying for one of the greatest thrillere writers in the world,” Jonathan Lloyd said in a statement.

Forsyth has published over 25 books, including the “Odessa file” and “Dogs of the War”, and sold over 75 million copies globally, the agent said.

His publisher, Bill Scott-Kerr, said: “Read by millions of people from all over the world, Freddie's thrillers define the genre and continue to represent the landmark to which contemporary writers aspire. He leaves an unmatched legacy.”

Frederick Forsyth was born in 1938 in Kent, England, and was a pilot of British Air Force before becoming a war correspondent for BBC and Reuters. In 2015 he revealed that he worked for the British Information Service for 20 years.

In many of the works he was inspired by the experiences.

Forsyth renowned with his first novel, “The Day of the Shak”, from 1971, which he wrote when he was unemployed.

The “Șacalului Day” is a captivating story, placed in 1963, about an Englishman employed to assassinate the French president at that time, Charles de Gaulle. According to the statement, Forsyth died on Monday after a short disease.

“Terrified by what he saw and using his experience during a period of a period of secret services, he wrote the first and probably his most famous novel, the day of the Șacal, and he became an author of bestsellers globally,” added Jonathan Lloyd.

Another bestseller of his was the “fourth protocol” in 1984, after which a movie with Michael Caine and Pierce Brosnan was made.
