Both Transfăgărășanul (DN7C) and Transalpina (DN67C) will be opened on Friday, June 6. The snow was removed, and the national road 67 C (Transalpina) will reopen the road traffic, from 9:00, on the road sector between Rânca (Gorj county) and flow (Alba county).
“Tomorrow, June 6, 2025, redishes and transalpina (DN67C)! From 9.00 am, it will be possible to travel again on the sector between Rânca and flow. Until July 1, Transalpina will be able to travel between 09.00 -20.00, and after this date between 07.00-21.00”, Announces Cristian Pistol, in a Facebook post.
“I recommend to all those who will use the route to respect the specifics of this mountain road and travel carefully!”, The CNAIR's general manager said.
The national road 67C crosses the Parang Mountains, with a length of almost 148 kilometers, but about 30 kilometers, in the alpine area, is inaccessible for the most part.
Transalpina links Novaci (Gorj county) and Sebeș (Alba county). Like Transfăgărășan, it is a spectacular mountain road, very attractive for tourists, but which becomes inaccessible in winter, due to the high altitude. In the area of the Urdele Pass, the road reaches a share of over 2,000 meters, with a maximum of 2,145 meters, being the highest road in Romania.
The transfagărășan reopens and
Transfăgărășanul (DN7C) also reopens from Friday, June 6, starting at 07:00, between Bâlea Cascada (Sibiu county) and Piscul Negru (Argeș county), on the sector between km 130+800 – km 104+000. However, the road could be temporarily closed, in the case of unfavorable meteorological phenomena.
“We mention that the traffic will be allowed between 07:00 – 21:00, and in the case of adverse meteorological phenomena, the road will be temporarily closed until the weather allows its reopening in safe conditions,” CNAIR said.
Drivers are advised to circulate cautiously, to adapt speed to traffic conditions, especially given that at atmospheric instability leads to spontaneous weather phenomena that affect visibility.
“We pay attention to those who transit this road sector that, in the last period, the presence of bears is reported near the road and we advise them not to approach the animals, not to feed them and to inform the authorities of their presence immediately.”, The quoted source also states.
DN7C connects the two historical provinces – Muntenia and Transylvania. With a length of about 151 kilometers, Transfăgărășan begins in Bascov (Argeș) and ends near Cârțișoara (Sibiu).
