A unnecessary bag of buckwheat was stuck in the kitchen cabinet? Do not rush to throw it away! IA EAOMEDIA shares a secret: sprinkle the cereal in the garden, and a rich harvest will not be long in coming!
Buckwheat, oats or rice are suitable not only for porridge, but also for the garden. Cereals saturate the soil with potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, making it loose and nutritious. And they wake up useful microbes that turn organics into food for crops. Unlike manure, there are no weeds here, and the roots do not burn, like from chemistry.
How and when to do it? Best – in the fall, after cleaning. Spray 100 – 200 g of cereals per square meter, add a pinch of wood ash for a balance of acidity and dig up 10 – 15 cm. During the winter, buckwheat will decompose, and by spring the soil will be ready for plantings. If the autumn is missed, sprinkle the cereal in the spring, spill Baikal (this for microbes) and cover with agrofibre for 10 days.
Buckwheat is especially good for tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, oats – for carrots and cabbage, and rice for herbs and legumes. Even expired cereals are suitable, but without mold or salt. For a greater effect, mix with compost or siderates, like mustard – weeds are stalled, and the soil will become even more fertile. The main thing is not to rash too much so as not to acidify the soil.
