Breath is a thing without which a person cannot live normally, but do you know that our lungs do not work equally? IA EAOMEDIA explained why the right lung person absorbs more air than the left one, and how the heart is involved here.
The right lung in a person is a real champion in the volume of air. It accommodates about 10% more than the left. The reason is simple – the heart lives on the left side of the chest, which takes a decent place and “pushes” the left lung slightly. The right is straightening to the whole width, as if boasts of its capacity.
But this does not mean that the left lung is second -rate, they both work in the team, supplying oxygen and removing carbon dioxide. Just right, with its three shares against two in the left, physically more. The heart, comfortably arranged on the left, makes the left lung be more compact.
Interestingly, this difference almost does not affect our lives. Breathing remains even because the brain and muscles synchronize the functioning of the lungs. But, for example, during yoga or breathing gymnastics, you can notice that the right side of the chest expands a little more.
This fact is a reminder of how cool our body is. The right light takes on more than the load, but the left does not lag behind, despite the cramped heart.
