More than 35 thousand people became participants in the Green Marathon in the cities of Siberia

140 thousand runners came to the start of the Green Marathon, which took place in 60 cities of the country from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Kaliningrad, as well as in the Belarusian Gomel. Another 150 thousand people came to cheer up for the runners. This year, the race took place for the 12th time.

In Siberia, where the event was organized in nine cities, more than 35 thousand people became participants in the holiday. Among them, more than 21 thousand athletes reached a distance of 4.2 km and 10 km, and also became participants in children's and inclusive races.

In Krasnoyarsk, the holiday was held on May 31, on Saturday, on about. Tatyshev. Here, more than 3,000 runners came out at the distance, and 5,500 people took part in the festival.

Participants could choose various formats of the race – these are traditional 4.2 km, children's race, northern (Scandinavian) walking and inclusive route. For the first time, fans of races ran a new distance – 10 kilometers. For the holiday, citizens came to families. Each guest could contribute to the creation of an eco -shaped, visit a good deed site and even become a potential bone marrow donor.

During the event, charitable quizzes and family quests with prizes were held.

Each Green Marathon carries a deep charity meaning, the organizers note. This year, Sber is collecting charitable funds to help children who need support, including children in new and border territories. Together with the Sberbank charitable foundation “contribution to the future”, more than 30 million rubles of donations have already been raised. The collection of funds under the auspices of the Green Marathon continues.

In Siberia, as part of the Green Marathon, a charity action “Box of Crazy” was also held. The initiative of Sberus was timed to the day of the protection of children. It helps to give joy to small patients who meet the holiday in the hospital or undergo medical procedures. Everyone could bring a new gift and put it in a specially designed box located on the marathon site. All collected things and toys, more than a thousand gifts, will be transferred to children's hospitals in the cities of the Green Marathon.
