Withdrawn due to dissensions with the former Belgian coach, Thibaut Courtois returned after its change
Thibaut Courtois had recently returned to the Belgian gate, after announcing his temporary departure from the national team in August last year, due to misunderstandings with the then coach, Domenico Tedesco (39). Courtois stated at the time: “Unfortunately, after the events with the coach and after a careful analysis, I decided not to return to the national team of Belgium under his leadership.”
In January 2025, the Federation in Brussels gave up Tedesco and his successor, Rudi Garcia, immediately opened Courtois's “door”. “It is a shame that you cannot rely on the best goalkeeper in the world,” the Frenchman had explained. And the goalkeeper of Real immediately accepted the invitation of the new coach.
