McLaren occupies the first two places in Spain's Grand Prize

On the starting grid, McLaren will occupy the first two places, followed by Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and George Russell (Mercedes).

In addition to the duel between the two pilots in McLaren, the attention is also heading to the World Champion Max Verstappen, who will start from the third place, and to Lewis Hamilton, who qualified for five.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly will leave positions 6, 7 and 8 respectively.

The training sessions were dominated by the McLaren pilots, with Norris the fastest in P1 and the fastest in P2 and P3, a sign that the team wants to be located as high in the standings this weekend.

Max Verstappen was declared dissatisfied after the qualifications, saying that “it will not be easy” to fight with those from McLaren in the race.

On the starting grid, the first pilot outside the Top 10 will be Alex Albon, and Carlos Sainz missed Q1, finishing at 18th place

The race is expected with great interest, as McLaren has dominated training and qualifications, and Red Bull and Mercedes will try to respond to the challenge.

Pilots will only stop twice at speakers in the race

Today's race for the Grand Prize of Spain will almost certainly include two speakers, due to the extremely high degradation of the tires on the “Catalunya” high -speed circuit near Barcelona.

According to Pirelli data, the optimal option for traveling 66 tours is the start of soft tires, with which to make the first 13-19 tours, after which to move to the average ones.

The last stint will also be traveled with soft tires, and the second stop at the speakers will take place between the 42 and 48 tours.

There are other tire distribution variants, some of them including all three types, and others relying on a set of soft tires and two medium tires.

This strategy with two medium tire sets will be possible only for Charles Leclerc and Haas pilots, Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon, who are the only ones who have two sets of medium tires for the race.

All the pilots on the starting grid have a set of hard tires, except Leclerc, Bearman and Ocon, who have a set of medium tires. The three have, respectively, with a set of soft tires.
