The publication was based on the analysis of two million pages from military tenders in Russia, to which investigative reporters obtained access through Russian, Belarusian and Kazakh servers.

“Documents reveal how completely new objects were built with the development of weapon systems in all of Russia; old bases were razed to the ground and rebuilt from scratch,” it was emphasized in the publication. It was added that “hundreds of new barracks, watchtowers, control centers and storage buildings were erected, as well as kilometers of underground tunnels.”

The Danwatch portal among millions of documents has found detailed plans to build and modernize the base near the city of Jasna, where from 2019 a hypersonic Avangard gliding shell has been stored.

The tender documentation included Descriptions of the safety systems used, including the location of seismic and radioactivity sensors, as well as cameras. You can find out about the place of staying of soldiers and storing weapons.

Experts cited by Danish and German media point out that declassification of such a detailed material can cause Russia, and in the worst case new nuclear weapons bases will be susceptible to attacks.

Another thread of the arrangements of Danwatch and “Der Spiegel” is the use by Russia to modernize their bases of parts from Denmark, including valves, pumps and insulation, probably produced by Russian branches of Danish companies. Danfoss and Grundfos companies sold their shares in Russia in 2022, but the Rockwool insulation producer has four more factories. All three companies denied that their parts were used in military facilities, they also claim that they did not violate any sanctions.

According to documents, products from large companies from Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland were also ordered and supplied. (PAP)
