Luminiţa Popescu, Secretary of State at the National Agency for Equal Chances between Women and Men, condemns “firmly” on Saturday night's incident, when a 23 -year -old was deadly killed by his ex -boyfriend, in the Cosmopolis residential complex.
“Words are too poor to encompass the cruelty and pain of this gesture. A life of a woman crushed by violence. Of hatred. A terrible drama, a crying injustice in heaven! It is a day of mourning. A day that throws us again, in the face of raw reality: domestic violence! (…) Facebook.
The Secretary of State considers that what happened “is not” a simple “diverse”.
“It is a tragedy, the result of a society that still minimizes the abuse, which urges tolerance, which is indifferent and that blame the victims. A society that tolerates aggression, control and humility becomes complicit in tragedies,” says Popescu.
She also argues that, as Secretary of State of the National Agency for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men, “she wears this pain as a personal and institutional responsibility.”
The Secretary of State launches an appeal to all women living in abusive relationships:
“Please ask for help! Don't wait for it to be too late! Don't wait for a tragic news! We created services, we have legislation that protects you, we have people prepared to support you. A start is hard, but it is savior! Call 0800,500.333 – Free national line,
