The court made a decision regarding the duties of Donald Trump. The US president reacts

“The US international trade court issued an unbelievable decision against the United States of America regarding the desperately needed tariffs, but fortunately a full 11-person panel of judges of the US Court for the Federal District Court has just stopped the decision of the international trade court based on Manhattan,” wrote Trump on the Truth Social platform.
“The court's ruling for the US international trade is so wrong and so political! Let's hope that the Supreme Court will quickly and definitely undo this terrible, threatening the country's decision,” he emphasized.

According to the US President, “this terrible decision” stated that he would have to obtain the consent of the Congress to introduce tariffs. “In other words, hundreds of politicians would sit in DC for weeks or even months, trying to come to the conclusion how much to count to other countries that treat us unfairly. If they were allowed to do so, it would completely destroy the presidential power – the presidency would never be the same!” Trump said.
Court decision for international trade
The Federal Court for International Trade based in New York on Wednesday decided that Trump had exceeded its power of attorney, imposing additional duties, because only Congress has such law. Thus, the court annulled with the immediate effect of Trump's ordinance in the case of duties, which he announced from swearing in to the office in January.
However, on Thursday, the Federal Court of Appeal temporarily upheld Trump, but did not comment on the merits of the case, ordering both parties – reasons and administration – presenting written arguments in this matter until the first days of June.
In the entry on Truth Social Trump he also announced that he would take a joint press conference with Elon Musk, who withdrew from the US administration. The conference is to take place on Friday at 19:30 (Polish time) in the Oval Office in the White House.
