North Korea has made it possible for Russia to increase its rocket attacks against the essential infrastructure in Ukraine and has provided over 2,000 ammunition containers since September 2023, indicates a report of multilateral Sanctions Monitoring Team (MSMT), a group of 11 Member States of the United Nations, informs on Thursday the agencies of Reuters and Yonhap.

MSMT was formed in October 2024 at the initiative of South Korea and the US as an alternative framework for the UN Expert Panel for monitoring the sanctions against the Phenian. Apart from South Korea and the US, nine other countries have joined the mechanism-Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands and New Zealand.

Transport includes approximately 9 million artillery howitzers, over 100 ballistic missiles and at least 200 heavy artillery pieces, as well as anti -tank guided missiles.

Since November 2024, Russia has transferred to the Phenian at least one mobile Panţir Aerial Defense and a Panţir class fighter, indicates the MSMT report.

The inaugural ratio of the MSMT, which is particularly focused on illegal military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, is the first evaluation made by the MSMT on implementation of the sanctions since the launch of this group.

The conclusions of the report are based on information provided by the countries participating in the MSMT and data delivered by private research institutes.

The same report shows that the Phenian sent over 11,000 soldiers to Russia in 2024, another 3,000 soldiers recently held. These soldiers were trained by the Russian army in basic infantry operations and artillery countermeasures against drone attacks.
