In the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a new workshop on the processing of wild rings has opened. It was created on Taimyr by the family clan community of the indigenous peoples of the North “Baygal”.

The initiative of the community was supported by the agency for the development of the northern territories and the support of indigenous peoples. A grant of 1.6 million rubles was allocated for the implementation. To this northerners added their 200 thousand rubles. For this amount it was possible to create local production, strengthen the material and technical base of the family community and provide local residents with jobs.

“It is important for us to preserve traditional crafts and convey them to the young generation. The processing of wildroats is not only part of our culture, but also a real opportunity to provide income for families in the Far North, ”said Olga Porotova, chairman of the Bayagal community.

In the new workshop, wild berries and mushrooms are treated, then they are frozen, canned, packaged. All products are on sale.

“Projects similar to what Baigal community implemented is not only a contribution to the preservation of cultural traditions, but also to the sustainable development of the northern territories. We see how, thanks to grants, jobs are being created, local production develops and the quality of life in the north of the region is increasing, ”said Anton Narchuganov, head of the agency for the development of the northern territories and the support of the KMN of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Recall that in 2024 grants for the development of small industries and the implementation of cultural projects were received by 30 applicants from Taimyr, Evenkia, Turukhansky district and Krasnoyarsk. The total volume of state support amounted to 20 million rubles.
