EBITDA still in the minus, but sales are growing. Azoty count on customs and a new strategy

Wi Grupa Azoty in the quarter of 2025, the consolidated sales revenues at the level of PLN 3.82 billion and the EBITDA result in the amount of minus PLN 8 million – said the company in a communiqué. The results comply with the estimated estimates previously published.

The EBITDA margin at the end of the first quarter was minus 0.2 percent, which means an improvement in EBITDA's result of the first quarter of 2024 by PLN 42 million.

Grupa Azoty gained positive profitability in the EBITDA level in the Agro segment.

“In addition to improving financial results, in Agro and Tworzywy, we increased the volume of products sold by over 200,000 year -to -year. Thus, we gradually rebuild our position in individual segments, despite the unfavorable market environment, including primarily imports of products from outside the European Union,” said Andrzej Skolmowski.

“We hope that the last decision of the European Parliament regarding fertilizers from Russia and Belarus will positively affect Agro's business profitability,” he added.

Andrzej Skolmowski pointed out that in parallel to implemented repair activities and conversations with financing institutions, Grupa Azoty finalizes work on the new strategy.

In the first quarter, the raw material situation of the Azoty Group was under the influence of a significant increase in natural gas prices, whose ratings were 71 percent. higher compared to the same period of the previous year.

The increase in prices also concerned electricity. The unit costs of coal consumption were significantly lower.

The import of products from the Eastern directions had a significant negative impact on the results obtained. (PAP Biznes)
