Changes in the rules for calculating leave. The Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers adopted a draft amendment to the Labor Code, as reported by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy. One of the key changes is the modification of the method of calculating the seniority, which will translate into a longer vacation for many employees.

Currently, the law de facto make people who are not full -time employed in many fields. One of them is the dimension of paid holiday leave: mandate contract and the period of conducting business activity do not include work experience. This means that – as he notes “Puls HR” – An employee with several years of experience on the mandate contract has a lower status than a full -time employee.

The Ministry of Labor found the applicable legal status to be unfair, a The project adopted by the Permanent Committee of the Council of Ministers aims to equalize opportunities in access to some employee benefits. The draft changes includes that the period of employment will include:
- periods of conducting non -agricultural activities by a natural person and periods of remaining a person cooperating with a person conducting non -agricultural activities,
- periods of performance of the mandate contract or for the provision of services,
- periods of performance of the agency agreement,
- periods of remaining a person cooperating with the abovementioned people,
- periods of remaining a member of the Agricultural Production Cooperative and Cooperative of Agricultural Circles,
- period traveled abroad a period other than employing gainful activities,
- The period of suspension of business activity by a person conducting non -agricultural economic activity in order to exercise personal care for the child, for which contributions for retirement and disability pension insurance were paid.

Changes, whose entry into force of the Labor Ministry planned for January 1, 2026, will affect many aspects of professional work, such as the amount of salary allowances or the amount of severance pay, which are calculated on the basis of a seniority.
Seriously Above all, however, the issue of paid free days from work will change. For some employees, this will mean that they will get the right to a longer vacation. For example: a person who has been working for eight years has been employed full -time for eight years, and the remaining time on the basis of a mandate contract. After the changes, its total seniority will increase to 12 years, which will allow 26 days – instead of 20 days – holidays.
